Chandigarh: Cold wave continued to sweep
Punjab and Haryana, with Amritsar recording sub-zero minimum
temperature for the second consecutive day today.
Amritsar registered a low of minus 1.6 degrees Celsius,
down by five notches than normal.
Ludhiana recorded its coldest night at minimum 0.8 deg C,
down six notches. Patiala recorded a low of 3 deg C, four
points below normal.
In Haryana, Hisar once again remained the coldest zone at
a low of 0.7 deg C, down by five notches.
Narnaul shivered at 1.5 deg C, while Karnal recorded a
minimum of 2.4 deg C. Rohtak braved the chill at a low of 2.4
deg C.
However, Chandigarh - the joint capital of the two
neighbouring states, enjoyed sunny weather and the temperature
increased slightly to settle at 5.2 deg C.
