Cold conditions persist in Punjab & Haryana

Minimum temperatures Wednesday rose marginally at many places in Punjab and Haryana even as cold conditions continued to persist in some areas.

Chandigarh: Minimum temperatures Wednesday rose marginally at many places in Punjab and Haryana even as cold conditions continued to persist in some areas.

The minimum at Amritsar rose from yesterday`s 6.2
degrees Celsius to 9.2 deg C today, two above normal, the MeT
said here.
The low at Patiala increased by three notches since
yesterday to settle at 11.1 deg C, one above normal. However,
Ludhiana registered a below normal low at 9.2 deg C.

In Haryana, Hisar registered a low of 11.6 deg C, up
two degrees, while Karnal, too, recorded a similar low at
11.4 deg C, up one notch.

The minimum at Gurgaon settled at 9.5 deg C, while
Ambala registered a low of 10.4 deg C.
However, Narnaul and Rohtak registered below normal
minimums at 7.5 deg C and 9 deg C respectively.

The minimum at Chandigarh increased by over two notches
since yesterday to settle at 10.8 deg C, up two degrees.

The MeT said that fog reduced visibility at some places
early today including Ambala, Karnal, Rohtak and Ludhiana.
