Cold wave continues to sweep Punjab and Haryana

Chandigarh: Cold wave on Sunday continued to sweep Punjab and Haryana today with minimum temperatures hovering 2-4 degrees below normal.

Narnaul in Haryana was the coldest place in the two states recording a minimum of 2.2 degrees Celsius, down four notches, followed by Amritsar in Punjab, where the low settled at 2.3 degrees Celsius, down three notches.

Hisar in Haryana also reeled under cold weather conditions recording a low of 3.2 degrees Celsius, down four notches while Rohtak had a cold night at 4.5 degrees Celsius, three below normal, the MeT officials said here.

Cold conditions prevailed in Bhiwani, where the minimum was recorded at 4 degrees Celsius, down two notches while Ambala recorded a minimu of 6 deg Celsius.

Patiala and Ludhiana in Punjab also registered below normal minimums of 5.6 degrees Celsius and 6 degrees Celsius respectively.

Chandigarh, the capital of both the states, experienced a cold night at 5.2 degrees Celsius.
