Cold waves continue to shiver Punjab & Haryana

Chandigarh: Minimum temperatures Tuesday continued to hover a few notches above the normal range in Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh recorded a minimum of 11.7 degrees Celsius, up six degrees from the normal, the MeT department said here.

In Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded identical minimums at 10.2 degree Celsius each, while Amritsar's low settled at 9.2 degrees Celsius, up six notches.

People in Jalandhar city shivered due to cold waves sweeping the area. The minimum in the city was recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius.

Ambala in Haryana recorded a low of 9.5 degrees Celsius, up three notches, while Hisar's minimum settled at 8.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.

Rohtak registered a low of 7.8 degrees Celsius, while Karnal's low was 11.2 degrees Celsius, up four degrees. The minimum at Bhiwani settled at 10 degrees Celsius.
