Cong leaders lack decision making power, alleges Sukhbir
Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday accused Congress leaders of not being able to take decisions without "prior permission" from the Gandhi family.
Sirsa: Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday accused Congress leaders of not being able to take decisions without "prior permission" from the Gandhi family.
"Congress leaders lacked the decision taking power and they could not even breathe without prior permission from the Gandhi family," he said while addressing a rally in favour of SAD-Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) joint candidate Balkar Singh from Kalanwali Assembly seat here.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab claimed, "this attitude of Congress leaders resulted in a lack of decision making which has proved dear to the people of Haryana."
Throwing his weight behind jailed INLD supremo Om Parkash Chautala, who at a recent rally in Jind had claimed to take oath from Tihar jail if his party comes to power after October 15 Assembly polls in Haryana, Sukhbir said, "Chautala did not have to take permissions from any boss so he would ensure speedy development of the state."
Launching frontal attack on the Gandhi family, he accused the Congress party of "fooling" people for decades under the leadership of this family.
He said that Congress launched the slogan of "Garibi Hatao" (eradicate poverty) but after gaining votes adopted the policy for "Garib Hatao" (eliminate the poor).
Sukhbir alleged that the Congress worked on divide and rule policy to rule the nation for more than 65 years, but now the true face of the party was exposed.
Lashing out at the Haryana Government for allegedly ignoring the overall development of the State, he said for Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the state started and ended in Rohtak district alone.
"The Congress government had created a development gap between few cities and rest of Haryana," he claimed.
He said Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Chautala always fulfilled their promises whereas the Congress eliminated the poor after getting their votes on the promise of poverty eradication.
Sukhbir claimed that the policies framed and adopted during the Chautala and his late father Devi Lal governments are still followed in Haryana.
He alleged that the Congress misused agencies like CBI to put Chautala behind bars. "Chautala always fought the battle of common people and Congress attempted to stop this struggle by designing conspiracies against the Chautala family," he said.
