New Delhi: Congress on Monday finalised its list
of candidates for Assembly elections in Punjab, where the
party is poised for keen contest with the ruling SAD-BJP
combine.
The names were decided by the Central Election Committee
of the Congress headed by party chief Sonia Gandhi and Prime
Minister Manmohan Singh as its permanent member.
The candidates for Assembly polls in Uttarakhand have
already been finalised and most of the nominees for Uttar
Pradesh too have been decided.
The central leadership is yet to finalise candidates for
Assembly polls in Manipur and Goa.
