Couple shot dead in Ambala
A middle-aged couple was shot dead in Ambala city on Friday allegedly by their neighbour over a minor dispute, police said.

dispute, police said.
The deceased were identified as Inderjit Singh (50) and
Veena Devi (45), who is a staff nurse in Durana village.
While Inderjit died on the spot, Veena succumbed to her
injuries on way to PGI Hospital, Chandigarh. The police have
arrested their neighbour Ramesh in this connection.
According to the police, Ramesh runs a shop close to the
couple`s house. There was a dispute between them over the
ownership of a house. A case in this regard is also pending in
the court and a few days back there was scuffle between them.
Veena was returning home after dropping her daughter at
school this morning when Ramesh approached her on a scooter
and allegedly fired at her.
Later Ramesh went to the couple`s house and fired around
half a dozen bullets at her husband Inderjit, who died on the
spot, the police said.
Veena sustained bullet injuries in her stomach and was
rushed to the local civil hospital from where she was referred
to PGI Chandigarh, they said.
