Day temperatures rise slightly in Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh: The maximum temperatures on Sunday rose marginally in Punjab and Haryana as dry weather prevailed at most places of the region.

Chandigarh registered a day temperature of 33.8 deg C, up one notch, the MeT said.

Sultry weather conditions prevailed in Rohtak in Haryana, where the mercury settled at 34.7 deg C.

The maximum temperature in Bhiwani was recorded at 34.2 deg C, up one notch while the high at Karnal was 34 deg C.

Ambala's recorded at 34.3 deg C, up by two notches. In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum of 34.7 deg C, while Patiala and Ludhiana recorded 34 deg C and 34.3 deg C, respectively.

The MeT has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers at isolated places in the two states during the next two days.
