Employees with 2-year service left can be transferred in Punjab

Chandigarh: Employees who have only two years left in government services can now be transferred in Punjab as earlier they were getting immunity from transfer, a senior official said on Sunday.

Spokesman of state personnel department said the recent amendment has given mandate to the administrative heads to transfer those employees who are going to retire within two years.

He said that earlier administrative heads were prohibited to transfer such employees who have only two years left in government service.

The decision has been taken after in-depth deliberation at higher level, he said, adding that this action is aimed at bringing more transparency in the transfers and upgrade the working of the government machinery.
