Foggy conditions prevail in Punjab, Haryana

Severe cold and fog engulfed Punjab and Haryana, throwing normal life out of gear, as the minimum temperature dipped by four degrees Celsius below normal.

Dense fog reduced visibility to just few metres in the
region hampering movement of rail and road traffic, officials
said.

Narnaul in Haryana was coldest with a low of 1.2 degrees
Celsius, which was four notches below normal, the Met office said.
While Hisar braved a low of three degrees Celsius, two
notches below normal, the minimum temperature at Bhiwani was
3.8 degrees Celsius.

Among other places, Patiala shivered at 3.9 degrees
Celsius, two notches below normal followed by 4.2 degrees
Celsius at Chandigarh, 4.4 at Rohtak, and 4.8 degrees at
Amritsar.
Ludhiana had a low of 4.5 degrees Celsius, one notch below
normal whereas Ambala settled at 4.7 degrees Celsius.
