Chandigarh: Four persons were on Monday killed and 15 injured in a blast in a chemical reactor of a leading pharmaceutical company`s unit at Basauli village near here.
"The blast took place in the reactor of the pharma unit, which makes antibiotics. Fifteen persons were injured in the incident," SSP, Mohali, GPS Bhullar said.
The dead are yet to be identified.
A total of 31 people were said to be inside the unit at the time of the mishap, he said, adding two persons are missing.
Bhullar, who rushed to the site along with senior civil administration officials, said the injured have been rushed to various hospitals in the area.
Fire tenders from Mohali and Derabassi have been rushed to the site.
The pharma unit is located about 35 km from here.
