Head constable booked for murder in Moga

Moga Police have booked its head constable in connection with the murder of a man of Lohara village in the district, police said.

Lohara village in the district, police said on Wednesday.

A case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC was
registered against head constable Jaswinder Singh on the
complaint of victim Chhinda Singh`s brother Karamjit Singh.

Chhinda`s body was found late on Monday night from
near his house.

The victim had gone to deliver food to his father who
was undergoing treatment in a hospital, but he failed to
return home, after which his family reported the matter to the
police.

Police investigations revealed that the cop`s
nephew had some dispute with Chhinda and the policeman and his
accomplices had allegedly beaten up the victim.

Chhinda`s body was found near the main crossing of Ramma
village here.

Further investigations in the case were on; police said
adding no one has been arrested so far.
