MLA`s nephew confesses to have shot hotelier`s son: Police

Councillor Ram Simran Singh, nephew of an MLA and the main suspect in the murder of a hotelier` son five days ago, confessed his crime and said he and his accomplices shot Gur Kerat Singh in a fit of anger, police said.

said he and his accomplices shot Gur Kerat Singh in a fit of
anger, police said.

32-year-old Gur Kerat Singh, son of hotelier Rajbir
Singh, was shot dead in the wee hours of April 21 allegedly by
the nephew of Shiromani Akali Dal MLA from Adampur Sarabjit
Singh Makkar and his three accomplices.

There has been an ongoing tiff between the victim and
the councillor, a senior police officer said.

"On the night of the incident both had an argument
followed by a fight. Makkar confessed that he had shot Singh,"
said the police officer.

The other accused are Amardeep Singh Sani, Jaspreet
Singh Jassu and Prince Narula.
