Outfit activist raises pro-Khalistan slogans

An activist of the Akali Dal (Amritsar) allegedly raised pro-Khalistan slogans in Gurudwara Lakhnaur Sahib here where Gurubaksh Singh Khalsa has been sitting on fast for last one month demanding the release of Sikh detainees who have completed their sentences.

Sadar police station today registered a case against Mahinder Pal Singh, a leader of Akali Dal (Amritsar) on the complaint of a police official of Panjokhra police station under section 153B (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national interest) of the IPC.

According to police, around 250 activists of Akali Dal (Amritsar), the party led by former MP Simranjit Singh Mann, had reached at Gurudwara Lakhnaur Sahib last evening to offer their moral support to Gurubaksh Singh.

When some of them were talking to Gurubaksh Singh one of their supporters identified as Mahinder Pal Singh started raising slogans in favour of Khalistan. Later he and other activists left for Punjab.

On coming to know about the incident, Ambala police registered the case.

The police said that they were making efforts to arrest the accused.

Meanwhile the fast of Gurubaksh Singh has entered the 34th day today.
