Amritsar: An alleged Pakistani smuggler was
shot dead by BSF personnel when he was trying to cross the border here and heroin with a street value of Rs 85 crore was recovered from him.
The Pakistani was shot when he infiltrated into Indian
territory last night.
On frisking the body, BSF recovered 17 kg Heroin packed
in seventeen packets with a street value of Rs 85 crore and
fake Indian currency with a face value of Rs 10 lakh.
Confirming the drug and fake currency seizure as well as
the encounter of the Pakistani smuggler, senior BSF officials
Wednesday said the incident took place last night when patrolling
troops kept asking the Pakistani smuggler to surrender but he
ignored them and kept marching towards Indian Territory.
