Moga: On an Election Commission
order, para-military force personnel on Thursday staged a flag
march here to instill confidence among voters ahead of the
January 30 polling.
Similar flag marches would be conducted at Baghapurana and
Nihal Singh Wala tomorrow and at Dharamkot on Saturday, Senior
Superintendent of Police Inderveer Singh said.
He said apart from 900 personnel of para-military forces,
some 1,300 Punjab policemen would be on election duty in the
district.
The EC has appointed IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre,
Menakshi Sharma, who is in the rank of IG, as police observer
for Moga district.
