Punjab govt pays Rs 12,574 cr made through e-payment system

Punjab government today said with the computerisation of all treasury offices, the disbursement of more than Rs 12,574 crore to over 26 lakh beneficiaries has been made in six months.

Chandigarh: Punjab government today said with the computerisation of all treasury offices, the disbursement of more than Rs 12,574 crore to over 26 lakh beneficiaries has been made in six months.

Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa said here that the online system of payments is running successfully in the state.

He said through this system, payment was made to various government departments, besides salaries of government employees.

Dhindsa said all the government payments from April, 2013 are being deposited directly into the bank accounts of concerned departments and authorities.

Stating that Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) has been monitoring the system of online payments, he said 26 lakh people were directly benefitted.
The Finance Minister further said e-payment system was implemented in all government offices or departments, whose transactions were done through treasury offices.
He said that 21 treasury offices in the state has implemented e-payment system.
