Punjab-Haryana authorities to tackle floods together

The Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Patiala in Punjab and Ambala in Haryana will work jointly to tackle the floods which have claimed 33 lives so far and damaged standing crops in the two neighbouring states.

A joint meeting of Patiala Deputy Commissioner Deepinder
Singh and his Ambala counterpart Samir Pal Saro would be held
very soon after which they will visit the flood-hit areas of
the two states together, official sources said here today.

The Punjab Government has assured its counterpart in
Haryana that the breaches in Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal
falling in Patiala district are being plugged.
