Guruharsahai: Punjab Chief
Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that it has been
decided to prepare master plans for all towns and cities by
the end of this year in order to ensure integrated and planned
development of urban sector.
Addressing a gathering here after laying the foundation
stone of a Rs.12-crore water supply scheme, sewerage and
sewage treatment here, Badal said the masterplans for ten
towns of Ludhiana, Mohali, Mullanpur, Dera Bassi, Zirakpur,
Kharar, Banur, Bathinda, Abohar, Sri Hargobindpur and Regional
Plan Mohali had already been notified.
Master plans of 34 towns were in the process of
completion in the first phase and under second phase, 40 towns
have been added to the list of already declared Local Planning
Areas out of 44 towns.
