Punjab to spend over 400 cr on education

Mukatsar: The Punjab government would spend
Rs 425 crore on the upgrade of educational infrastructure in
the state during the current fiscal, Chief Minister Parkash
Singh Badal said today.

Addressing a function at a village here, Badal said
development of any state or nation without a strong
educational base would be a temporary phase that would wither
away soon.

"To ensure overall growth and prosperity, our government
has made concerted effort to strengthen educational
infrastructure in the right direction to focus on human
resource development," he said.

He asked academicians to come forward for the extension
and growth of education at all levels.
