Amritsar: Opposing the setting up of
National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC), radical Sikh outfit
Dal Khalsa on Sunday said any such step was fraught with danger.
In a letter to Home Minister P Chidambaram, the outfit
voiced its opposition to seeting up NCTC "without prior
consultations with states or representatives of ethnic
minority communitiesor rights organisations".
"Instead of going for the creation of a new anti-terror
super body, UPA government should evolve methodologies for
peaceful conflict resolution thereby removing the very cause
for violence as well as making the existing security and
intelligence agencies accountable to people and Parliament,"
party`s political secretary Kanwar Pal Singh said.
