Rajnath confident of finding solution to Sidhu`s outbursts

BJP chief Rajnath Singh on Monday sought to play down party leader and MP Navjot Singh Sidhu`s outbursts against the SAD leadership, saying he was confident of finding a solution to the problem.

Chandigarh: BJP chief Rajnath Singh on Monday sought to play down party leader and MP Navjot Singh Sidhu`s outbursts against the SAD leadership, saying he was confident of finding a solution to the problem.

"I want to say this is not a major problem. I have received reports (about Sidhu`s outbursts) and I have also spoken to the person concerned. I am confident a solution will be found," he told reporters here.

Apparently targeting Badals, Sidhu has accused the SAD leadership of scuttling development projects in his Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency.

Forty nine-year-old Sidhu had a closed-door meeting with the BJP president today, party leaders said.

Asked whether the party was mulling any action against Sidhu because of his outbursts and prolonged absence from his constituency, Rajnath said "you leave it to me. This is an internal matter of the party."

Asked if Sidhu would again be fielded from Amritsar, the BJP president said this would be decided by the party`s Central Election Committee.

To a question, Rajnath said the SAD was an old ally and the party had no complaint from it.

"We have not received any complaint from them. We are an old ally," Rajnath said.
