Amritsar: Former MP and Shiromani Akali
Dal (Amritsar) President Simranjit Singh Mann on Wednesday demanded
a CBI probe into the custodial death of Khalistan Commando
Force (KCF) ultra Sohan Singh alias Sohanjit Singh on March
14.
Addressing a press conference here, Mann said that he
had visited the residence of Sohan Singh and met his family
members including his wife Bhupinder Kaur who alleged that her
husband was tortured to death.
Mann quoting Sohan's wife's version said that the body
had many burn marks and profuse bleeding was also noticed at
the time of cremation, indicating that Sohan had been tortured
to death.
Mann also demanded a murder case to be registered
against Assistant Inspector General Punjab Police Manminder
Singh for Sohan's death.
Denying Mann's claim, Manminder Singh said that Sohan
Singh had hanged himself from the ceiling fan.
