SDO arrested on graft charges in Punjab

Moga: A Sub-Divisional Officer was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe from a farmer in the district, police said.

Sleuths of vigilance bureau last night arrested Surinder Singh, posted as SDO with Punjab Powercom in Dharamkot, and his driver Jaswinder Singh for allegedly accepting Rs 15,000 bribe money from a farmer for transfer of his tubewell connection.

A trap to nab Singh was laid by sleuths on the farmer's complaint, police said, adding, he was arrested while he was taking the bribe money from him.
