Moga: A Station House Officer of Ajitwal
Police Station in Moga district of Punjab was placed under suspension on Tuesday for alleged dereliction of duty, police said.
SSP (Moga) Surjit Singh Grewal suspended SHO Bhola Singh for alleged indiscipline and ordered a departmental probe into the matter, they said.
To nab a suspected drug smuggler, the SHO was told to keep a close watch on all vehicles passing through a police barricade.
After midnight, DSP Jaswinder Singh found the SHO allegedly sleeping on a chair, police said.
He was without uniform and was allegedly under the influence of liquor, they said
On DSP's report, the SSP suspended the SHO with immediate effect.
