Temperatures settle below normal in Punjab and Har

Chandigarh: Punjab and Haryana continued to reel under a cold wave on Tuesday with temperatures settling at below normal in most places of the region.

Narnaul, which recorded a low of two degrees Celsius, was the coldest place in the two states, the MeT department said here.

Hisar braved a cold night at 3.5 degrees Celsius, down three notches than normal while Karnal too was yet to get any relief from the cold, with the minimum settling at 4 degrees Celsius, down three degrees.

Cold conditions prevailed in Bhiwani, where minimum settled two notches below normal at 4.4 degrees Celsius, while Ambala's low was recorded at 6.7 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh recorded a night temperature of 6.1 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Amritsar had a cold night at 3.2 degrees Celsius, while Patiala residents also faced the chill at 5 degrees Celsius minimum.

The low at Ludhiana settled at 7.2 degrees Celsius.
