UPA govt brain dead: Sukhbir

After the withdrawal of support by Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress, "the UPA government is now on ventilator", Sukhbir Singh Badal said.

Tarn Taran: The UPA government is brain dead and it has no right to continue in office, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal said here Wednesday.

After the withdrawal of support by Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress, "the UPA government is now on ventilator", he said.

"This brain dead government has no right to continue in office as it has lost numerically as well as on moral ground," Badal said.

Predicting early Lok Sabha elections, he said "people are itching to throw this government out at the hustings."

Accusing the UPA government of discriminating against Punjab, Badal said the state had not got its due share in central border area schemes.

Badal was here to monitor the progress of Goindwal Sahib Thermal Plant.

Plant General Manager Oliver Tyagi informed the Deputy Chief Minister that 90 per cent work had been completed and the first unit would become operational on March 15 next year.
