Moga: A 23-year-old woman was arrested while allegedly attempting to board a flight to
Canada on a fake passport, police said here Thursday.
Immigration authorities at Delhi airport detained the woman on Tuesday night after she was about to board a flight, they said.
Police brought Harvinder Kaur Brar here from Delhi.
Brar, a resident of Buttar Kalan in the district, was later produced before a court here, which remanded her to police custody for a day.
The arrest was in connection with the infamous Moga passport scam that had rocked the state in July 2008.
Brar had allegedly managed to secure her passport on fake documents in connivance with some police officials and a travel agency, police added.
