Young faces to get chance in SGPC polls: Sukhbir

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that young and dedicated faces would get a chance in the elections to the general house of SGPC stated for November 22.

in the elections to the general house of Shiromani Gurudwara
Parbandhak Committee stated for November 22.

Talking to media after laying the foundation stone of
various development projects here, he said that the country
demographically had more than 60 per cent population in the
young bracket and it was imperative for the SAD to give due
representation to the young faces in the forthcoming elections
for the general house of SGPC.

He said that the final decision of tickets for SGPC
elections would be taken by the working committee of the
party.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that SAD-BJP alliance
government had put the road construction work on fast track
and over 800 kilometer National and State Highways would be
four/six lanned at the combined cost of Rs. 5000 Crore in
the next two years.

He said that these road projects included Six laning
of Shambu border to Jalandhar and four laning of
Amritsar-Attari Border, Kurali-Kiratpur Sahib,
Ludhiana-Malerkotla, Kharar-Banur, Zirakpur-Patiala,
Patiala-Bathinda, Kharar-Ludhiana, Ludhiana-Talwandi,
Jalandhar-Dhilwan section, Amritsar-Pathankot,
Morinda-Kurali-Siswan T.Junction, Siswan-T.Junction to
Mullanpur Garibdass, Ropar-Phagwara.
