Zee Punjabi celebrates 12th anniversary; announces launch of news website soon
Mohali: Zee Punjabi will launch a news website in Punjabi very soon. The plan for the very first Punjabi news website in the country was announced on the occasion of 12th anniversary of the channel. A rich musical treat ‘SaanjhSuran Di’ was organized at Zee Punjabi’s Mohali office to celebrate the day. S.P. Singh Oberoi, a renowned businessman and social worker from Dubai graced the event as a Chief Guest.
Breaking the barriers of borders this musical event “Saanjh Suraan Di” brought artists from Lehnda Punjab and Charda Punjab on one platform which was appreciated by one and all. Singers like Pammi Bai, Kamaal Khan, Dolly Singh Comedian Rana Ranbir and Bhangra Gidda Groups from India and Pakistan’s famous Sufi Rock band “Raaga Boys” were a great attraction. The event was thronged by eminent businessman, social workers, politicians, bureaucrats, intellectuals and singers & artists from film and music industry.
The program opened with a traditional Bhangra performance by Dimple Bhangra Group followed by Dolly Singh, Jeet Jagjit, Pammi Bai, Harvinder Singh Sohal, comedian Rana Ranbir, Zee Tv’s Sare-gama-pa winner Kamaal Khan, Qawal Neele Khan and group, Jhoomer dance by Jaswant Singh and party. Star of the event Raaga Boys from Pakistan captured the hearts of audience with their mesmerizing presentation. The performances besides propagating Punjabi traditional & cultural values also endorsed aptly Aapni Boli Aapna Maan, Zee Punjabi’s tagline.
Appreciating the role of Zee Punjabi Chief Guest S.P. Singh Oberoi said, “The channel is respected by audience for its unbiased news presentation and secondly role of Zee Punjabi in Promoting Punjabi language and Punjabiat all over the world is worth appreciating.”
Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Zee Network congratulated all the Punjabis on the occasion. Owing to his busy schedule although he was not present at the event, he conveyed his best wishes through a video message: “Punjabis have always been at the forefront and their role in the development & growth of the country is worth appreciating. The channel has not only introduced Punjabis to music, culture through programmes but also kept them well informed with the news.” He added further that the year ahead will be very crucial for Punjab as its going to assembly elections and news will play an important role on how things pan out.
Zee Network has always aimed to Engage , Inform and Empower its viewers across all channels and the launch of its website www.zeepunjabi.com is in line with the same thinking, says Sanjay Vohra, Editor Zee Punjabi. He also shared that a new website for news in Punjabi language will be launched in the near future, to achieve this objective, which will be the first of its kind in the country.
The dignitaries among others present at the event were Jaspal Bhatti, Dolly Guleria, Dr. Atamjeet Singh, Diwan Mana, Dr. Mamta Joshi, Chetan Joshi, Gill Amarjeet, Kamal Tiwari. Political leaders like Daljit Singh Cheema, Ravneet Bittu, Balbir Sidhu and Bibi Harjinder Kaur and Rana Gurjit, Anil Kaushik, Alok Kumar, Mann Singh, SK Gupta, Surinder Singh Bai Ji also praised the news coverage of Zee Punjabi.
Mr Amit Tripathi, Sales Head, Zee News Network, Mr. Pramod Kaul, Business Head, Zee Punjabi and other officials and former employees of Zee Network also graced the occasion.
Celebrations concluded with the cake cutting ceremony at 12 O Clock Midnight.
