Kota: A 94-year-old retired policeman was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court here in connection with a 2008 murder case.
Awarding the sentence yesterday, the SC/ST court also
slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 on Kallimudden, a former Head
Constable.
According to the prosecution, the retired policeman
axed to death Babulal of SC/ST caste in October 2008 in his
native village.
Statements of 17 witnesses were recorded during the
trial lasting three-and-a-half year.
The SC/ST court found Kallimudden guilty of murder and
awarded him life imprisonment on Friday, Additional Public
Prosecutor Bhupinder Mittal said.
Kallimudden had served in several police stations in
Hadoutti.
