Kota: In the wake of abduction and murder of a 7-year-old boy here, main markets and educational institutes today remained close in the city after the Kota Vyapar Mahasangh called for bandh demanding the arrest of the accused.

The 7-year-old boy, Rudraksh Handa, was found dead yesterday in Jhakmund village of Bundi district after he was abducted from a park in Talwandi area of Kota city on Thursday evening.

As a mark of protest against the inactivity of?police in dealing crime against public and demanding the immediate arrest of kidnap-cum-murder accused of Rudraksh, business and trade organisations today observed the total bandh here, Kranti Jain, president of Kota Vyapar Mahasangh said.

Petrol pumps, coaching institutes and trading centers remained closed through out the day with people walked through the main markets and roads raising slogans against the police and district administration.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Kota city, Rajan Dushyant said the bandh on the call by Kota Vyapar Mahasangh remained peaceful.

"No untoward incident has been reported during the bandh," the ASP said, adding that nobody has been arrested so far in kidnap and murder case of Rudraksh, however, the probe into the matter is on.

The recent kidnap and murder case of innocent Rudraksh has put a question mark over the safety and security of about 1.50 lakh coaching students who come to the city for coaching purpose from across the country, an advocate said.
