Agra blast not the handiwork of experts: Minister

Union Minister of State for Home Jitendra Singh on Monday said the investigations into the Agra blast showed it was not carried out by any expert.

Jaipur: Union Minister of State for Home
Jitendra Singh on Monday said the investigations into the Agra
blast showed it was not carried out by any expert and the
motive was to create panic.

"Primary investigations suggest the (Agra) bomb blast
accused were not experts. It appears the blast was aimed at
just creating panic," he said.

A low intensity blast, in which a crude Improvised
Explosive Device (IED) was used, in the reception area of a
hospital on September 17, some 5-7 kms from Taj Mahal, left
six injured.

The Minister said the government was making necessary
efforts for tracking down criminals and collecting information
about terrorists.

Data related to notorious criminals and terrorists would
be collected to enable investigation agencies to get required
information about criminal elements within seconds, he said.

Singh said under this plan nearly 15,000 police stations
would be connected through a network and there would be one
centre for monitoring it.

When asked about Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi`s
fast, Singh said it was mere a drama.

"It seems the run for Prime Ministerial post has started
(within the BJP). One with `Rathyatra` and the other with
`Upwas`."
