Army felicitates paraplegic archer

Army felicitated paraplegic archer Kamlesh Kumar Sharma at the headquarters of South-Western Command.

Jaipur: Army on Saturday felicitated paraplegic archer Kamlesh Kumar Sharma at the headquarters of South-Western Command.

Army Commander Lt Gen Gyan Bhushan honoured him and presented a cheque of Rs 50,000 at an event attended by senior officials of the command, according to a defence spokesperson.
A polio-paraplegic, Sharma is posted in the SW command headquarters and is being coached by the Army.

Initially, he excelled during his participation in Asian Para games in China in December, 2010.

In March, 2011, he won two gold and three silver medals at the Senior Para National Archery Championship at Bangkok.
In July 2011, he participated in World Para Archery Championship held in Italy.
Recently, he participated in 32nd Senior National Archery Championship in January, 2012, for the para archery section and won three gold medals in 50 meters, 70 meters and overall Championship, and a silver medal in 90 meters distance.
