Bhanwari case: CBI remand for Malkhan Singh

A CBI court remanded MLA Malkhan Singh, arrested in connection with the Bhanwari Devi abduction case, in the CBI custody till December 28.

Jodhpur: A CBI court on Tuesday remanded MLA
Malkhan Singh, arrested in connection with the Bhanwari Devi
abduction case, in the CBI custody till December 28.

He was produced before the court of Jagdish Jyani who
sent him to the CBI custody.

The court also extended the CBI remand of Amar Chand,
husband of Bhanwari, till December 22.
Congress MLA Malkhan Singh, representing Luni assembly
constituency, was evading questioning for the past few days.

He was arrested last night when he appeared before the
CBI for interrogation.
Bhanwari Devi, posted as an auxiliary nurse at a
sub-centre in Jaliwada village in Jodhpur, went missing on
September one.

Her husband alleged she was abducted at the behest of
Mahipal Maderna who was later sacked from the Ashok Gehlot
Ministry.
Besides Maderna, the CBI had arrested Amar Chand on
charges of not cooperating with the investigative agency.
Shahbuddin, Baldev and Sohan Ram are the other accused
who are behind bars in connection with the case.

Two more accused, Sahiram and Bishnaram Bishnoi, are
absconding.
