Bhanwari case: Vehicle used in abduction found
The mystery of missing nurse Bhanwari Devi took a new turn with Rajastan police recovering a vehicle allegedly used in her kidnapping.
Jaipur: The mystery of missing nurse Bhanwari Devi took a new turn with Rajastan police on Saturday recovering a vehicle -- from Palampur of Gujarat -- allegedly used in her kidnapping.
The vehicle does not carry any number plate, police sources informed.
The police on Friday recovered a mysterious letter claiming that the missing nurse is alive and is being held hostage by a top politician in Haryana.
The sender of the postcard letter has alleged a big political conspiracy behind the kidnapping of the Jodhpur nurse.
The anonymous sender has also revealed full details to Jodhpur police as to how Bhanwari Devi was kidnapped and how she was shifted to various places. The sender has claimed that Bhanwari was first taken to Nagore instead of Sikar, as suspected by the investigators. From Nagore, she was taken to the residence of a powerful minister in Haryana, whose name has been revealed in the postcard letter.
The police have annexed this letter into their file to be submitted to the CBI, which will be taking over the probe soon.
The case has created a political storm in Rajasthan leading to intense criticism of the Congress government.
Rajasthan’s powerful Water Resources Minister Mahipal Maderna is one of the accused in the case.
Maderna has been accused of kidnapping Bhanwari Devi. The other two accused in the case Shahbuddin, the alleged key executer, and former deputy district head Sahiram Vaishnavi, are reported to be absconding.
Bhanwari Devi`s husband filed a complaint of kidnapping and suspected murder in Bilada`s trial court on September 21.
The CBI has registered an FIR in Delhi in connection with the kidnapping after the DoPT issued a notification on October 3.
Bhanwari Devi reportedly featured on a CD showing her in a compromising position with Mahipal Maderna.
