Jodhpur: After evading arrest, two more
accused in Bhanwari Devi case on Wednesday surrendered here even as
the CBI took blood samples of the son of the missing nurse for
DNA identification of the remains, suspected to be of her,
which were recovered from a canal.
A team of two doctors along with a technician from MG
Hospital had visited the CBI camp office here and collected
the blood sample of Sahil.
"I was asked to give blood to match it with the DNA of the
the bones to ascertain whether they are my mother’s or not,"
the boy told reporters, adding that his grandmother had a
given consent for the test.
Pukh Raj Bishnoi and Dinesh Bishnoi, who had been
absconding for about two months, surrendered today. The CBI
arrested them and produced them before CBI magistrate, who
remanded them in agency's custody till 30 January.
The two have been grilled a number of times earlier and
were allegedly involved in the plot of abduction and killing
of Bhanwari Devi.
Meanwhile, the CBI added one more witness to its list--
Ramdev Bugaliay - a bus driver whose statemnet was recorded
in the court today.
According to sources, Ramdev was quite close to the
nurser and would frequently call her.
With this, the CBI has recorded statemnets of 11 persons.
The agency today grilled Shambhu Singh Khetasar, who
defected from BJP during last assembly election and contested
opposite Mahipal Maderna from Osian constitutency as an
Independent candidate.
CBI spokesperson Dharini Mishra said that he had been
summoned for questinig in connection with Amarchand and Indra
Bishnoi.
He was quizzed for about six hours.
Bhanwari, 36, was allegedly abducted and killed and her
body burnt at Jaloda. Her remains and belongings were later
dumped in the Rajiv Gandhi Lift Canal. The CBI had recovered
Bhanwari's remains and belongings from the spot.
Earlier, CBI has taken blood samples of arrested Congress
MLA Malkhan Singh Bishnoi and daughter of Bhanwari Devi.
