Jodhpur: BSF IG K L Meena was injured
and his driver killed in a head-on collision between their car
and a truck on Jodhpur-Jaipur highway here this afternoon.
Meena, posted as IG (Rajasthan Frontier), was on his
way to Delhi to attend a meeting when the accident happened at
Beenawas, some 40-km from here, police said.
Meena received injuries and was admitted to nearby
MDM Hospital. Doctors said he had suffered a fracture in his
right hand but his condition was stable.
The driver of his official car, Jeewan Singh, died
instantly.
The driver of the truck, which overturned after the
collision disrupting road traffic, fled the scene and a hunt
was on to apprehend him, the police said.
