Jodhpur: With Shahabuddin, one of the main
accused of Bhanwari Devi case, "not cooperating" in the probe,
the CBI on Tuesday grilled him in the presence of two others
allegedly involved in the abduction of the auxiliary nurse.
Following court permission, the CBI took Shahabuddin to
Central Jail this morning and cross-examined him along with
Sohan Lal Bishnoi and Baldev alias Balia, who are under
judicial custody, agency sources said.
The CBI had already interrogated Bishnoi and Balia on
October 19-20 but quizzed them again in order to verify the
statements of Shahabuddin, who according to them, was "not
cooperating in the investigation".
The CBI has again quizzed Rajesh Parihar, a video album
maker with whom Bhanwari had worked. It is also focusing on
persons close to Bhanwari like her driver Farooq and friends.
Farooq was also quizzed by the agency through the day.
Parihar has interrogated by the CBI on 25 October, but was
called by the CBI on Monday night and today in connection with
the CD allegedly showing sacked Rajasthan minister Mahipal
Maderna and Malkhan Bishnoi, MLA from Luni, in compromising
position with the ANM.
Widening its probe, the CBI has quizzed Paras Ram Bishnoi,
who is a former PCC member and brother of Malkhan Bishnoi.
Paras Ram`s wife Kusum Bishnoi is a `pradhan` of Bilara,
the constituency to which Bhanwari belongs. The CBI is also
believed to have interrogated some other members of Bishnoi
CBI is also examining the role of Mahipal Maderna and the
agency believes that the 36-year-old auxiliary nurse, who went
missing from Jodhpur about one and half months ago, could have
Bhanwari Devi, who was posted as auxiliary nurse midwife
at a sub-centre in Jaliwada village, around 120 kms from
Jodhpur district, went missing on September 1.
Her husband Amarchand has alleged she was abducted at the
behest of former Water Resources Maderna and his associates.
The charges have been refuted by them.
