Jaipur: CBI has pasted posters of five policemen, including a senior IPS officer A K Jain and a liquor contractor, wanted in the alleged fake encounter of gangster Dara Singh, and promised a reward for any information about their whereabouts.
The persons are wanted in the case in which 10 persons (nine policemen and a former policeman), including an IPS office A Ponnuchamy have been jailed so far.
Singh, a liquor mafia from Churu district, was killed in an encounter by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police in October 2006 in Jaipur.
His wife Sushila, alleged that the encounter was staged. On their plea, the Supreme Court had handed over the case to the CBI in April 2010.
The six accused, include senior IPS officer A K Jain, additional SP Arshad Ali, Sub Inspectors Rajesh Choudhary and Julfikar Ali, Head constable Arvind Bharadwaj and a liquor contractor Vijay Choudhary.
Their posters were pasted yesterday at public places, including railway station, bus stand and a reward was promised for the informers, with an assurance that their identities will not be disclosed.
Those arrested by CBI few months ago are IPS A Ponnychamy, Inspectors Nisar Khan and Naresh Sharma, Assistant Sub-Inspector Surendra Singh, Sub-Inspector Satyanarayan Godara and a retired sub-inspector Munshi Lal.
Four others namely Subhash Godara (inspector), Sardar Singh (driver), constables Jagram and Bardiprasad surrendered before a local court here last month.
