Compensation announced for Uttarakhand victims hailing from Rajasthan

The Rajasthan government today announced to give a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each, besides a government job, to the next of kin of the people hailing from the state killed or missing in Uttarakhand floods.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government today announced to give a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each, besides a government job, to the next of kin of the people hailing from the state killed or missing in Uttarakhand floods.
The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot last night, officials said. The cash amount includes Rs 5 lakh given by the state government, Rs 2 lakh from PM relief fund, and Rs 1.5 lakh each from SDRF and Uttarakhand government`s relief fund. A cash relief of Rs 25,000 will be given to those injured in the floods, and undergoing treatment in hospitals. To girls who have lost either of their parents in the tragedy, the state government will provide monthly relief of Rs 4,000 besides a fixed deposit of Rs 4 lakh. Those who do not choose to take up government job will be given other packages, including monthly allowance, officials said, adding that various other facilities and allowances will also be provided to different sections of society. The district collectors will be empowered to execute the relief package, they said. PTI
