Engineering aspirant goes missing in coaching hub Kota

A 16-year-old boy, who was preparing for engineering entrance examinations, has gone missing from his paying guest accommodation here and efforts are on to trace him, police said on Saturday.

Kota: A 16-year-old boy, who was preparing for engineering entrance examinations, has gone missing from his paying guest accommodation here and efforts are on to trace him, police said on Saturday.

Ramkishore Sharma, a resident of Agra in Uttar Pradesh, is missing since May 19 from his PG accommodation in Jawahar Nagar police station area.

However, the boy's parents feared that he might have been abducted by human traffickers who are reported to be active in the area.

The boy's father Raghuveer Sharma, who is an employee in the Irrigation department in Agra, expressed his unhappiness over the probe by the police saying they have even failed to work on clues.

"We also personally met the IG, the SP and the ADM, Kota and requested for rescue of our son but got only assurances," an aggrieved Sharma said.

When contacted, Circle in-charge Jawaharnagar police station Harish Bharti said investigation into the matter is underway and efforts are on to trace the missing student.

Rajasthan High Court had recently taken a strict stand on children going missing from the state after a PIL filed stated that as many as 745 children have gone missing in last 10 years from Dadabari, Jawaharnagar and Gumanpur areas of the city.

The HC has also sought a detailed report on missing children.
