Bundi (Raj): Five children were injured when a school bus carrying 30 students lost balance and fell into a drain near Thikeriykalan village of the district on Monday morning, police said.

"The bus, belonging to a public secondary school, was carrying 30 children -- all of primary standard. It was going to the school from Thikeriykalan village when it fell into the drain after losing balance," Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramkishan Gurjar said.

While four of the injured children were discharged after first aid, a girl suffered fracture and was sent to hospital in Kota for treatment, he said.

The children were pulled out of the bus by villagers after breaking window glasses.

On a complaint filed by the father of an injured girl, a case of negligent driving was lodged against the bus driver who fled the spot after the incident, the ASI said.
