Jaipur: The London-based foreigner who was held with a satellite phone without valid documents yesterday in Pushkar, was sent to two-day police custody, police said on Tuesday.

"Andrea Pagnacco was produced before the magistrate in local court of Pushkar who remanded him in two-day police custody. He will be produced again on Thursday," Additional SP (Ajmer-Rural) Himmat Abhilash Tank told reporters.
Pagnacco, who is of Italian origin, is reportedly on a world tour to study climate change and was arrested in Pushkar for carrying a satellite phone allegedly without proper documents and necessary permission.

The official said Pagnacco had reached Pushkar on January 7 after visiting several places including Amritsar, New Delhi and Jaipur in his specially designed bio-van.
He had no permission for the satellite phone from the Government of India and did not inform the customs about the phone when he entered India from Wagah border, he said.
