Husband arrested for killing wife in Jaipur

A man allegedly strangulated to death his wife and chopped the body into pieces on suspicion of her having extra marital affairs, in Sriganganagar district in Rajasthan, police said today.

Jaipur: A man allegedly strangulated to death his wife and chopped the body into pieces on suspicion of her having extra marital affairs, in Sriganganagar district in Rajasthan, police said today.

 The body pieces were recovered from their house last night, SP, Sriganganagar, Hariprasad Sharma said.

 "The accused Mahaveer Kumar (45) suspected that his wife Neelam (42) was having illicit relations with other men so he strangulated her on Thursday last week and chopped the body into pieces and kept them in the house," he said.

 Another police officer said that the incident came to light last night when the woman's parents reached their house.

 "The accused husband beheaded the body, chopped hands and legs and kept the pieces in a storeroom which usually remains closed. The woman's parents were trying to contact her on phone for the last few days and when they could not contact her, they arrived here last night and informed police about her missing," the officer said.

 After the body pieces recovered from the house, the accused husband, who runs a shop, was arrested.
