Man falls into hot water pot in MLA`s daughter`s marriage, dies

A man, engaged in preparation of food in marriage of an MLA`s daughter fell into hot water pot in which tea was being prepared and later succumbed to his burn injuries in Barmer district, police said today.

in which tea was being prepared and later succumbed to his
burn injuries in Barmer district, police said today.

The incident took place in Fagalia village of Chohttan
area in the district on June 7 where MLA Padma Ram Meghwal`s
daughter`s marriage was being soleminsed.

The man identified as Nahar Singh (35), who was
epileptic, fell into hot water pot over makeshift oven and
sustained critical burn injuries, Superintendent of Police
Barmer Santosh Chalke said adding he succumbed to his injuries
the next day.

However, the matter was not reported to the police and
it was brought to their notice by locals last evening.

As per locals claim, the man fell into the pot after the
MLA slapped him. But, the SP said inquiry which was conducted
today denied it saying the man fell into the pot after he got
epilectic fit.

When contacted, the MLA said the man was hospitalised
the same day, soon after the incident. He also ruled out any
altercation with the man which allegedly led to the incident.
