Jaipur: Monsoon is expected to hit Rajasthan between June 25 and July first week, even as parts of the state have been receiving rainfall in past one week due to pre-monsoon activity, Met office said here on Monday.

It would be too early to fix any date for the arrival of Southwest monsoon in Rajasthan but with the current trend, it might hit the state between June 25 and July first week, a Met official told PTI citing present weather pattern.

Last year, the SW had entered the state on July 3 from Bikaner and had gotten active from July 13, he said.

Meanwhile, Kota received 5.8 mm rainfall since morning today and Vanasthali recorded 24 mm of rainfall during last 24 hours, followed by Bikaner and Ganganagar 23 mm each.

Mercury ranged between 36 and 40 degree Celsius at many places, including Ajmer, Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Churu and Sriganganagar.

Jaipur experienced sweltering weather conditions as 50 to 60 per cent humidity was recorded during the day.

Sporadic rains would continue in parts of the state in next 24 hours, a forecast said.
