Narendra Modi`s Udaipur rally: As it happened

This today is the beginning of my tours in the poll bound states, starting from Rajasthan, says Narendra Modi

Zee Media Bureau/Hemant Abhishek 5.55 pm Narendra Modi concludes speech in signature style with loud chants of `Vande Mataram.` Modi urges the crowd to throw out Congress from Rajasthan. 5.52 pm I have not seen a CM like Vasundhara ji who was asked me each time —`Modi ji, Narmada ka paani lao.` 5.50 pm If the allegations that were made on PM were made against Vasundhara ji, Shivraj (Singh Chouhan) ji, Raman Singh ji or me, imagine what would have happened. 5.48 pm When it became clear that Vasundhara ji will win here in Rajasthan, CBI became active against Gulab Chand Kataria.
5.47 pm I tried finding out where ISI story came from. A police officer in Rajasthan is seeking an election ticket, he weaved a story and we heard it, says Modi. 5.45 pm Influenced by TV and daily soaps, the `shahzada` is not talking about the issues concerning the people, but a family serial. 5.44 pm The government in Delhi is busy finding gold, 2G, but has no interest in onions. 5.44 pm Compare what the cost for food was when Vajpayee ji left government and what it costs now. Today the costliest thing is onions. 5.43 pm Production of onion has gone down 5%, but the price has gone up by 1500%. Onions are grown in Maharashtra, AP, Karnataka — all Congress-ruled states. 5.41 pm Congress said prices will be down in 100 days. What happened? 5.40 pm Modi asks the Udaipur crowd — is Congress telling you what they did? Draws a loud `no` from his audience. 5.40 pm Arrogance of the Congress is sky high and that is why they are not bothered about things. 5.38 pm Can any woman of Rajasthan have the courage to meet the ministers of Rajasthan? 5.36 pm The Governor of Rajasthan who is from Congress, what did she say? If you cannot implement schemes, build roads let me do it. Governor is from the Congress, Shahzada appointed her, and she is saying such a thing. 5.32 pm Human Rights Commission has used such words for this Rajasthan government. Even the Human Rights Commission does not trust this government. 5.31 pm If `he` trusted this government, why did he come to visit Gopalgarh without telling anyone? A government and chief minister who the `shahzada` does not trust how can you trust? 5.30 pm The person who came to ask for votes for Gehlot, does he trust him? Do they trust their own CM? 5.28 pm `Shahzada` came to Rajasthan and spoke. But even Congress workers did not understand what he spoke, why he spoke, for whom he spoke. 5.26 pm For the last few days there have been so many inaugurations in Rajasthan that there were no scissors left in the market. 5.21 pm: In 1857, the challenge to the British came from the areas where there were tribal communities. Desh Bhakti of the tribal communities inspires us even today. 5.20 pm: In Mewar, I bow to Maharana Pratap. We also remember Rana Sanga here. 5.17 pm: This today is the beginning of my tours in the poll bound states, starting from Rajasthan. 5.16 pm: Seeing such a large crowd in Udaipur for the first time, it is an indication of a storm in the country, says Modi. 5.15 pm: Narendra Modi begins speaking. Bharatiya Janata Party`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed a party rally at Udaipur`s Gandhi Maidan on Saturday. Modi spoke at the BJP Janjaati Morcha Sammelan, accompanied by state party president Vasundhara Raje. People from tribal areas of Udaipur division attended the rally. BJP`s election manifesto for Rajasthan assembly election was almost complete and would be submitted to party`s state president Vasundhara Raje on October 25, Kataria said. The main contents and issues mentioned in the previous 2008 manifesto were included in the new agenda with the proposals invited from all sectors of the society, he said. Even minor issues and demands invited from 200 Assembly constituencies were being covered in the manifesto, he added. Earlier this week, on Wednesday, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi addressed two rallies in poll-bound Rajasthan. The Congress number two recalled the assassinations of his grandmother Indira Gandhi and his father Rajiv Gandhi in an emotionally charged speech in Churu, Rajasthan on Wednesday, and said he was not afraid if communal anger and hatred killed him someday, but would continue to fight against divisive forces in the country. The Assembly polls in Rajasthan are scheduled to be held on December 1. Rajasthan is expected to witness a fierce battle between the Congress and the BJP. Moreover, the upcoming Assembly election in Rajasthan is being seen as a litmus test for both the parties ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
