Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday warned the officials that negligence will not be tolerated in construction work of Jaipur Metro.
Addressing a meeting at CMO here, Raje directed the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation, Jaipur municipal corporation, district administration and Police Commissioner to prepare a contingency plan to provide quick relief in case of any possible accident during the Metro construction work.
She also directed that a rescue team should be available with resources at the construction site so that quick relief measures could be initiated in case of an accident.
She asked the officials of Jaipur Metro to ascertain that no sub-standard material was used in construction. If use of sub-standard material was revealed, action would be taken against the persons responsible.
Raje directed the Metro officials to start restoration work in the building damaged during the construction late last night.
Officials of Jaipur Metro informed that a part of crane had fallen over a residential building causing damages to one portion of it.
They said that officers of Jaipur Metro and the Police had reached the spot soon after the incident.
The district collector said that seven families affected by the accident have been shifted to nearby Maheshwari Sadan and arrangements have been made for their food and other requirements.
The CM said that there should be a proper coordination between them in case of any accident on a Metro site so that relief works can be started quickly.
The Chief Minister said heritage structures found during the excavation were precious and it was needed to restore such sites as done in France or Greece.
She asked the local MLAs and other public representatives to create awareness among people about the restoration plan of the heritage structures found during the construction work.
Raje directed the officials of Jaipur Municipal Corporation and Jaipur Development Authority to repair damaged roads of the walled city area, remove encroachment from roads and start a campaign to catch stray animals to ascertain smooth traffic.
