Jaipur: The newly-wed couple -- scion of Jodhpur royal family Shivraj Singh and his bride Gayatri -- Saturday returned home in a chartered plane from Sanganer airport here after tying the knot at a lavish ceremony at Rambagh Palace in the city on Thursday.

Shivraj, also a former India polo player, took his bride to the Rambagh polo ground yesterday and spent some time with her there.

The 'Baratis' (groom's party) who had come here to attend the royal wedding departed yesterday in a chartered train.

The public reception will take place at a hotel in Jodhpur on November 22 and is expected to be attended by a large number of guests from all over the country.

The wedding of Shivraj with princess Gayatri of Askot in Uttarakhand was solemnised on November 18 at Rambagh Palace according to traditional rituals and was attended by Bollywood stars, politicians and corporate honchos, including Mahima Choudhary, Moon Moon Sen, Riya Sen, Raima Sen, Kabir Bedi, Kumar Mangalam Birla and Jaswant Singh.

Erstwhile royals, family members and friends took part in the wedding procession.
