Newly-wed royal couple returns to Jodhpur

The newly-wed couple -- scion of Jodhpur royal family Shivraj Singh and his bride Gayatri -- Saturday returned home in a chartered plane from Sanganer airport here.

here after tying the knot at a lavish ceremony at Rambagh
Palace in the city on Thursday.

Shivraj, also a former India polo player, took his bride
to the Rambagh polo ground yesterday and spent some time with
her there.

The `Baratis` (groom`s party) who had come here to attend
the royal wedding departed yesterday in a chartered train.

The public reception will take place at a hotel in
Jodhpur on November 22 and is expected to be attended by a
large number of guests from all over the country.

The wedding of Shivraj with princess Gayatri of Askot in
Uttarakhand was solemnised on November 18 at Rambagh Palace
according to traditional rituals and was attended by Bollywood
stars, politicians and corporate honchos, including Mahima
Choudhary, Moon Moon Sen, Riya Sen, Raima Sen, Kabir Bedi,
Kumar Mangalam Birla and Jaswant Singh.

Erstwhile royals, family members and friends took part in
the wedding procession.
